Prior to founding the company, Nick served as CFO/COO for two Bay Area hedge funds: Origin Capital Management, a $600mm-peak asset long/short equities and options healthcare fund affiliated with Soros Fund Management, from 2006 to 2008; and Enable Capital Management, a $500mm-peak asset PIPEs fund, from 2008 to 2009. At each fund, Nick was responsible for the overall financial reporting, daily operations and investor relations functions. Nick has significant experience with the creation and management of daily trade and risk management reporting systems, trade execution and reconciliation, daily and monthly fund P&L calculations, and monthly investor NAV reporting. As CFO/COO, Nick selected and managed all outside professional relationships including outside audit and tax firms, fund administrators, prime brokers, and legal counsels. At Origin, Nick oversaw the entire in-house administration services for its onshore and offshore funds. He also served as the Chief Compliance Officer at Origin while it was a SEC-registered investment adviser.

Nick started his career at Rothstein Kass (RK), in its Walnut Creek and San Francisco offices, serving as an auditor in the firm’s financial services practice. For several years, he was engaged in RK Consulting, LLC, which was RK’s hedge fund administration practice prior to its sale to Bisys Group, LLC (which was subsequently acquired by Citigroup). Nick’s public accounting experience at RK included domestic and offshore audits of hedge funds and broker dealers, fund financial statement preparation, investor K-1, and fund tax return preparation.
